At Adawehi, we have a passion for health, a love of farming, and a commitment to sustainable living.
Fresh produce from our gardens is seasonally available at Beneficial Foods and Polk County's weekly Tailgate Market.
"Everything begins with “intent.” The market gardens at Adawehi are no exception. Our intent is to grow the highest quality produce. My passion for improving the nutrition available to our community is a driving force for me."

Biodynamic agriculture meets organic standards but predates the organic movement by about 80 years. Based on Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner's notion of the farm and earth as self-sustaining organisms, it involves the application (to compost, crops, and soil) of several strictly formulated plant "preparations", and times all operations to coincide with lunar cycles.
In essence, biodynamic farming was the first type of organic agriculture. Biodynamic and organic methods seek to sustain ecosystems, but biodynamic farmers adhere to unique philosophical principles, as well as to guidelines more stringent than those required by the USDA for organic certification.
Organic farming places primary importance on soil health, eschewing synthetic chemicals, which pollute the environment and deplete nutrients and microorganisms in the soil. It is characterized by the use of natural soil amendments, manual/ mechanical weed control, nontoxic pest management, and sustainable animal husbandry.
